It’s back to school time…do you have all of your epinephrine auto-injectors?? If you are like many families, then you are probably beginning your back to school shopping which for a food allergy family also includes extra epinephrine, Benadryl, asthma meds, epinephrine carriers, medical alert bracelets, etc. Whether you are stocking up on your favorite epinephrine auto injectors for school, replacing your expired ones or purchasing them for the first time, you’ll notice that these life-saving devices aren’t cheap. BUT OH SO NECESSARY!!
I’m excited to share with you that both EpiPen® & Auvi-Q® have a $0 Co-Pay Program that you won’t want to miss out on! Mylan, the makers of the EpiPen®, were the first to launch a $0 Co-Pay Program and Auvi-Q® recently followed suit. Let me tell you a little about the programs and how you can join the $0 Co-Pay Programs for your favorite epinephrine auto-injectors.
EpiPen® $0 Co-Pay Program
The EpiPen® $0 Copay Program is good for the entire year {ending December 31,2013}. This program is designed for those who are commercially insured or pay cash for their pharmaceuticals. If you have a high deductible health insurance plan or a plan that does not cover auto-injectors then you will receive $100 off each 2-pack. But I’ve heard from many families who have been using this program and have paid next to nothing {$0-$5} for their EpiPens®.
How do I get the EpiPen $0 Co-Pay Program Discount?
In order to get the discount, you’ll need to get the EpiPen® Discount Card. You can obtain this card from your physician or by visiting the EpiPen® $0 Co-Pay Program website. I used the website and was able to print my card right then and there. This program may be used on up to 3 EpiPen 2-Pak® cartons or 3 EpiPen Jr 2-Pak® cartons per prescription. One thing to mention is that the EpiPen® $0 Co-Pay Program does not apply to Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE or any other federal or state healthcare plans.
Auvi-Q® $0 Co-Pay Program
The Auvi-Q® $0 Co-Pay Program is also good for the remainder of the year {ending December 31, 2020}. This offer can be used an unlimited amount of times between now and the expiration date. This program is not valid for prescriptions covered or reimbursed through Medicaid, Medicare, or similar federal or state programs including any state medical pharmaceutical assistance program. Just like the EpiPen® program, if you have a high deductible health insurance plan or a plan that does not cover auto-injectors, then you will receive $100 off each 2-pack.
How do I get the Auvi-Q® $0 Co-Pay Program Discount?
In order to get the discount, you’ll need to get the Auvi-Q® Discount Card. You can obtain this card from your physician or by visiting the Auvi-Q® $0 Co-Pay Program website. This program may be used on up to 3 Auvi-Q® 2-Paks per prescription.
Remember, ALWAYS carry 2 Epinephrine Auto-Injectors with you at all times. So…what will you be carrying?
