I host a book club every month for women from my church and always provide food. It’s generally a mixture of sweet and salty food with a sprinkle of healthy. We laugh, we cry, we eat, and we chat for hours on end. It is one of my most favorite days each month.
The food selection varies from month to month. I often choose a pinterest recipe that I’ve been dying to try knowing that if it totally flops, i have a very forgiving crowd. Despite the change in menu, one item is always at the top of the list. It’s become known to the ladies and my husband as “The Book Club Salad.” It is delicious, easy, and always a huge hit! Many of the women take one look at the spread and exclaim, “Oh good, you made the salad!”
It’s nothing special, but it’s delicious and one that you need to make for
your next gathering or dinner.
- 1 Bag Mixed Greens
- 1 Gala Apple, Chopped
- 1 Pear, Chopped
- 1 Bag of Gluten-Free Croutons
- Parmesan Cheese
- Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette Dressing
- Rinse greens and add to a large bowl.
- Cut up the apple and pear into bite size chunks (with peel left on). Add to top of salad. (If prepping in advance, toss with some lemon juice and store in an airtight container.)
- Sprinkle Parmesan Cheese and croutons over the top.
- Add enough Brianna's Dressing so that all is covered. Toss salad until well mixed.
I recently served up this salad on fabulous, eco-friendly Bamboo Leaf Salad Plates. A perfect place setting for a dinner party or book club gathering. For a limited time, RestaurantWare is offering my readers a 10% discount on all of their products.
