Take Me Out To The Ball Game
Take Me Out With The Crowd
Buy Me Some Plentils And Nana Creme
I Don’t Care If I Never Get Back…
Now those SHOULD be the lyrics to the infamous, “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” song! Right?!?!?
I am seriously beyond excited to announce that the Indianapolis Indians baseball team has been working very hard to create a safe environment for those living with peanut allergies. If you love baseball and have a peanut allergy then you know how scary attending a game can be with all of the peanuts, cracker jacks, and other peanut-filled candies being consumed everywhere you look. Well, that won’t be the case at Victory Field on Wednesday, April 29th.
I’ve been working closely with Matt Guay, Director of Tickets and Operations of the Indianapolis Indians, for over a year to help make this fun, “Peanut Allergy Awareness Night” a reality for our community. The entire staff at Victory Field has moved mountains to make this night happen. They are brining in a cleaning crew to clean the stadium from top to bottom. WOOHOO! We’ve also been working with the concessions manager and all products containing nuts will NOT be sold this night. YAY!
With that said, I still want to caution you a bit. Guests will be informed at the gate that the game is a “peanut allergy awareness” game and asked to not bring in or open up any item containing nuts. Of course, you know how that goes – someone will still do it. And that is why we are not calling it a “Peanut-Free” Game.
As mentioned above, the entire stadium will have been cleaned, so feel free to sit anywhere. However, if you’d like to sit with other food allergy families, they have opened up a certain section for us. YAY! Sometimes it’s nice to get together with other food allergy families and let the kiddos mix and mingle. You can find us in section 106. If you would like to purchase tickets in our section, please click here. Follow the directions and when asked for a password, enter “baseball.”
So let’s show our support and thanks to our Indianapolis Indians for all that they’ve done for us by inviting our family and friends to the game. Oh and don’t forget to stop by our booth to pick up some fun swag and enter for a chance to win a fun food allergy goodie basket!! I’ll be there all night!
